The ASP Gauge: More Than The Usual

Digital dashboards often have several displayed gauges showcasing different data being monitored. An ASP gauge is one such type of gauge used on an ASP template page.
Digital dashboards are tools which show data being monitored for easy referencing and analysis. In this fast paced world, there is a need for such tools in order to manage huge amounts of data simultaneously. Digital dashboards are created using different programming languages with their own strengths and weaknesses. These pros and cons are then what determines a dahsboard’s usefulness and limitations in the long run.

Different programming languages are also employed in creating the gauges that appear on the dashboards. And there are technologies which support them, including ASP. Translated as Active Server Page, it’s a web technology by Microsoft that has HTML and allows for more interactivity than what usual webpages offer. This is made possible through its VBScript and JScript capabilities, its “sibling scripts” also created by Microsoft. An enchanced version of it called ASP.NET or ASP+ is created for the .NET platform.

ASP gauges are then used for data visualization, as much as what other digital gauges could do. Of course, data visualization does not only include just the gauges themselves – newer programming languages and creativity allow for more variety. These contemporary data visualization applications make for an even more interesting experience. There are other data visualization techniques which employ other programming languages for their specific needs. Unless the company specifies innovative takes on data visulatization for their network use, the use of a simple and functional ASP gauge would usually be enough.

Because these gauges are created using ASP, they are more dynamic than what static webpages could offer for people wishing to look them up. This may not be relevant to network management data, but putting up data for other people to read through them on websites will make the browsing enjoyable. Collected data is boring on its own having to read through all of them, but presenting data in an aesthetically pleasing way make people take notice. This is true enough for websites wanting to show facts wherein their readers can get intrigued and learn all those things without being “forced to”.

Using ASP for these gauges enhance the overall data viewing experience. People do not have to be tired of looking at still pictures or graphs which give a definite “put off” feel to them. Aside from that, using ASP itself will allow for more designs to be used on the website hosting these gauges. And using these ASP gauges allow for people using them on the business network to get the “interactivity” that they would want than just using normal graphs for data presentation. ASP also allows for data analysts to really “see” how much their data has changed, not just as random collections of numbers.

There are a lot of available ASP gauge suites available on the market, packed with the tools one would need in creating gauges. They are all priced accordingly with features unique to their own budget tier. Some of them are bundled within dashboard creation suites, essentially making them value added products fit for a company’s budget. The gauges also come in a lot of designs, with given source codes.
