    @Russkijmedeved it can have an easier syntax and it is always good to know more than one language. it makes you better than the guy or girl seated next to you

  14. ptreducto says:

    Bucky, It would be awesome if you could continue the Java tutorials :)

  15. TheBossCoder says:

    @Tspider4 also, sorry for basically going off on you in my first reply, it just seemed like you were trying to 1-up me when I didn’t really say all that much.

  16. TheBossCoder says:

    @Tspider4 I wasn’t thinking of games specifically, but you’re right, making games in Java isn’t exactly ideal. The fact that it requires a JRE makes it less appealing, coupled with the fact that lots of people aren’t fond of the applet feature. Although, it does make web apps much smoother as far as production time goes. C++ is usually condiered the premier game language if I remember correctly, but C# is starting to make some headway when it comes to game design. In fact, I think the majority

  17. Tspider4 says:

    @TheBossCoder
    Okay sorry about that. I’ll answer your question:
    If you’re talking about games, there are very nice opengl libraries available for java (like lwjgl used in Minecraft). There is JOGL (used in Runescape). Other (crappy) games are Puzzle Pirates and games on FunOrb. However there are a lot of communities, like LudumDare, making tons of awsome and creative games in java.
    But java isn’t really made for gaming, it is a very powerful language which is compatible with a lot of platforms.

  18. TheBossCoder says:

    @Tspider4 I replied to a comment with a straight forward answer, with the intent of naming applications written in Java other than Minecraft, and you took the rest of my reply (a whole ONE sentence) way out of context, taking it to a level of offense. You tell me something I already know, and then you assume that I have no idea “where” I’m talking about. Think before you type.

  19. PaT07M says:

    Dear Bucky,
    I would highly appreciate if you recorded in 720p!

  20. LukaDawnhacker says:

    @Russkijmedeved You can’t simply compare c++ with ruby. You can probably achieve same results with ruby or c++ but in completely different ways.

  21. bvant6 says:

    What is ruby like why would you use it for? Anyway I’m sticking with learning java

  22. march21101 says:

    @Tspider4 it also has a lot of issues, due to the desire for it to be backwards compatible

  23. Tspider4 says:

    Bucky, just continue with java, god damnit

  24. Tspider4 says:

    @TheBossCoder
    no shit sherlock holmes, C related languages are low level (closer to the machine) type languages. You can not compare them with java. Java has major advantages above C:
    1) Proper garbage collection!
    2) Cross platform!
    3) It is very powerful and useful outside of web apps if you program it well, you have no idea where you’re talking about.
