    @JohnnyClemenceed X = Cross-platform

  7. JohnnyClemenceed says:

    @corpsenim WAMPP, I think it’s called, is for Windows. LAMPP is for Linux. I’m not sure what the “X” is for, perhaps Unix, but the functionality is all the same.

  8. JohnnyClemenceed says:

    That XAMPP icon looks like a dog bone, but it’s got a nick in it. Is it intented to represent a bone of some sort, and why is in nicked? Otherwise, what is it supposed to be?

    @nicoekkart Sometimes you’ll have to turn off your UAC for xamp.
    Here’s the solution:
    Start –> Run –> Type in “msconfig” –> Press ok
    GoTo —> tools and find UAC aka User account control –> Launch and scroll to never notify.
    And restart our system.
    as suggested by @Musichkp

    Also, if your having some issues and have been messing around with creating servers on your PC then check you have not got your Internet Information Services (IIS) feature turned on as this will interfere with your apache. This is likley if your port 80 is already in use.

    @loko95ftp As long as you do not port forward you are good. But this software is just for testing your websites out, not actually host them.
